Dispatches from the Frontlines of Humanity: A Book of Reportage stars in Slovenia’s biggest newspaper

Boštjan Videmšek’s new book Dispatches from the Frontlines of Humanity: A Book of Reportage has been subject to a glowing review in Delo – Slovenia’s largest newspaper.

This book is an in-depth reportage on some of the most defining issues of our time, namely the global refugee crisis, the conflicts displacing these masses of humanity, and the causes behind them. It is also an ode to the vanishing art of the long-form feature or reportage, which is disappearing because many media organisations can no longer afford it, or are unwilling to pay for this kind of time-consuming, on-the-ground journalism.

Vesna Milek – author of the review article – pays homage to Boštjan’s writing when she writes; “It’s weird, but now, when I’m reading reportage in the English language, memories come back to every way they went with the photographer Jure Eržen, as every time I read their new reportage, I again asked: What can we see with his eyes?”
